The Southern California Foundation for Children (SCFC) celebrates every Holiday Season with our Annual Holiday Gala at Sangria in Hermosa Beach! You'll be treated to a semi-formal evening of Holiday cheer with a buffet dinner, open wine bar, door prizes, raffle prizes, our spectacular casino featuring blackjack & Texas Hold 'Em, and of course, warm wishes from all your friends here in the South Bay! And let's not forget our SILENT AUCTION that features items such as weekend getaways, Laker, Clipper, Kings & Mighty Ducks games, sports memorabilia, Limo trips, amazing venues and much more!

RESULTS from the 6th Annual Holiday Gala from the SCFC
Thank you to all our sponsors, partners, oranizations, friends and supporters for making the 2006 Holiday Gala at Sangria in Hermosa Beach back on Friday, December 8th the most successful event in our history! We had more guests and raised more money than ever before. As you all know, 100% of the net proceeds raised or donated to or by the SCFC will be used to purchase toys and specific needs for children and their families from under-privileged or at-risk circumstances. This year, we also received $8,000.00 from the Beach Cities Ski Club as part of our annual partnership and sold over $1,300.00 in raffle tickets on the night of the event! It was an amazing turn-out and a wonderful celebration to really get the Holiday season going on the beaches of the South Bay community!

BCSC Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament!

Held on Sunday, May 21st in Manhattan Beach! Special thanks to the Beach Cities Ski Club and the event organizers (Don, Chris, Wendy, Anna, Trudy, Tom, Ron) for a wonderful VB tournament this past weekend. This year was the best, with over 150 people and 80 silent auction items. All the net proceeds will go to So Cal Foundation for Children (the last two years they've raised almost $7000).

Saturday, July 15th, 2006 in Hermosa Beach (At 10th & the Strand)!
Join Impacting Hearts as we bring volunteers and under-privileged children together for a day of fun, hope, activity, competition and gamesmanship on the beaches under the sun this summer in Hermosa Beach, California. The kids will be randomly grouped into teams with volunteer coaches leading the way! Activities will include Dodgeball, Volleyball, Relay Races, Flag Football and more! We'll also stretch the imaginations with some arts & crafts for souvenirs as well as team naming, mission statements and songs/symbols!
If you're a volunteer, and you love children that need your heart and your smile, make sure to come prepared with a willingness to serve your team of kids and help them participate and have fun all day long! Encourage their gamesmanship and teamwork as they meet new friends, play with old buddies, and enjoy one amazing day that only you can provide!

Scholarship/Mentor Program for Teens!
September 2005 - June 2006: Foundation selects high school students for continuous scholarship program awarding at least $500 per student! Mentors will be assigned to students to help with college appointments, personal counseling and motivation! Students provided by Wishful Thinking Organization.
